RIB Courses

RIB provides comprehensive courses tailored for riders, trainers and veterinarians. The Courses teach you to use the RIB Concept to enhance your knowledge of biomechanical principles on horse-rider interaction, specifically giving you the tools to analyze and improve rider performance. As well as the fundamentals for improve sustainability of both horses and riders.

RIB Basic Course

The RIB Basic Course offers a comprehensive blend of theoretical lectures, practical unmounted sessions, and riding with test riders. Under the guidance of Maria Terese, participants will gain essential knowledge on horse and rider biomechanics and strategies for enhancing performance. Håvard will provide in-depth insights into human biomechanics from other sports perspective. Upon completing the RIB Basic Course, you will be eligible to enroll in any of our specialized courses.

RIB Dressage Course

This specialized course offers a full day of practical sessions focused on analyzing medium-level dressage riders. The day begins with unmounted analysis and performance testing in fundamental dressage movements. After lunch, participants will observe and assess riders while they are on horseback. This course is ideal for trainers and riders aiming to enhance their technical skills in basic to medium-level dressage and develop new competencies in the discipline.

RIB Show Jumping Course

The RIB Show Jumping Course is a specialized program focused on enhancing jumping positions. The course includes a full day of practical analysis, featuring show jumping riders at various levels. The day begins with unmounted analysis and performance testing. After lunch, participants will observe and analyze riders both on horseback and through video review. This course is perfect for those aiming to master jumping techniques and develop new skills in this discipline.

RIB Riding School Course

This course is specifically designed for trainers at riding schools. It offers a full day of practical instruction on how to analyze and coach riders both from the ground and on horseback. The RIB Riding School Course will help trainers discover new ways to motivate their students and emphasize the importance of correct rider positioning. Additionally, the course provides insights on how to tailor communication to accommodate different skill levels within the riding school and group settings.

RIB Veterinarian Basic Course

This basic course is tailored for veterinarians and veterinary students. It combines theoretical lectures on human and equine biomechanics with practical sessions focused on rider analysis, both unmounted and mounted. Maria Terese Engell will present cases where horses exhibit asymmetry and potential mild lameness, providing detailed discussions on the underlying causes and whether the issue stems from the rider or the horse. This course aims to deepen the understanding of the relationship between the rider and its impact on horse locomotion.

RIB Icelandic Riding

A special course that includes a full practical day analyzing several interesting Icelandic riders. Starting off with unmounted analysis and testing performance in Icelandic movements. After lunch, we observe and analyze our riders on the horse back. This course is perfect for trainers and riders who wish to improve their technical knowledge in Icelandic Riding and develop new competence in the discipline.
