Product description
Our specially designed and patented RIB stirrup is developed to optimize your leg position and balance. The adjustable footplate angle provides maximum support and control, while placing your leg softly and steadily around the horse. This relieves pressure on the knees from the saddle and facilitates effective and precise use of the legs.
We recommend using our stirrup leathers in combination with the stirrup. The stirrup can also be used with regular stirrup leathers (maximum width 26 mm). Please note that you will need approximately 16-18 cm longer leathers than with a standard stirrup. The design of the leather that runs through the stirrup head allows you to easily adjust the footplate angle to your personal preferences.
A unique safety mechanism made of soft PU material ensures that your foot can be easily released in case of an accident. The mechanism bends and disconnects from the steel part to free the foot.
RIB stirrups come with separate storage bags to protect both the stirrups and saddle from scratches. We recommend using the stirrup covers when storing the stirrups between rides.

How do I know which type of stirrup I shoulld choose?
How do I know which type of stirrup I shoulld choose?
As a starting point, the Steel Stirrup fits everyone, which is why it was the only stirrup we offered. However, we know that many riders prefer a lighter stirrup, especially show jumpers, younger riders, and those who ride a lot of young horses. That’s why we introduced the Aluminum Stirrup.
I have just purchased my stirrups. What angle should I start with?
I have just purchased my stirrups. What angle should I start with?
We generally recommend that everyone start with the stirrups having the footplate in a horizontal position. Some people with significant overpronation may start with the stirrup angled slightly down on the inside or up on the outside to ensure even pressure across the entire footplate. After that, we suggest making small adjustments to the angle, a few millimeters at a time, by lifting the inside of the stirrup. This will help you relax your knees and sit more effectively around the horse.
The angle of the stirrups changes during the session. What can I do?
The angle of the stirrups changes during the session. What can I do?
We recommend purchasing a pair of RIB Stirrup Leather Straps. These have been designed to ensure that the angle of the stirrup doesn’t change during the session and allow you to easily adjust the length of the stirrups without affecting the footplate angle.
How will this stirrup affect my horse?
How will this stirrup affect my horse?
By allowing the rider to relax their knees and pelvis, it becomes easier for the rider to communicate with the horse through the seat. Additionally, the rider will have a better ability to follow the horse's movements, which in turn makes the horse's job easier.
My legs are flapping at the side of the horse. Can the stirrups help with this?
My legs are flapping at the side of the horse. Can the stirrups help with this?
Our stirrup features a patented function with two anchor points that provide the stirrup with a unique stability. Together with helping you find the correct pressure over the foot and down into the stirrup, it can contribute to less flapping of the legs.
I keep losing my stirrups all the time. Can the RIB stirrups help me?
I keep losing my stirrups all the time. Can the RIB stirrups help me?
A common reason for losing your stirrups is gripping the saddle with your knees and not finding the correct pressure down and over the foot. By being able to adjust the angle of the footplate to your individual feet, it creates a better foundation for finding the correct pressure down into the stirrup. Additionally, we’ve designed the stirrup with a wider footplate so the foot has a larger area to balance the body over. By angling the stirrups slightly up on the inside and slightly down on the outside, this will help release the knees from the saddle, making it easier for you to sit deeper and move around the horse.

I struggle with my knees. Why should I choose this stirrup?
I struggle with my knees. Why should I choose this stirrup?
By adjusting the angle of the footplate, you will be able to give your foot the most optimal angle to balance the rest of your body over. Similar to how Gaitline shoes align the heel bone and correct the angle in both the ankles and knees, you will be able to achieve the same type of effect with our stirrups.
